Korea [HaNa 하나]

Anyohaseyo!!!

I'm back!!

Happy New Year 2008!!!

I'm in a really crappy sour mood now because of the weather transition from -3 to 27 degree celcius (@&$@!*%#)!!!

I had LOTS of new experiences in Korea... haha..some weirder than others... but now I'm only going to blog about the first day because I'm too lazy and tired and sour to edit more pictures... >.<>Photobucket
As usual out flight was delayed... and it sucked because it was a 1.30am flight...and it got delayed until 2am so you can imagine just how tired everyone was... grrr.... We were served breakfast on the plane... omelette and sausages or Korean style fried rice... ehhehe... not bad the food...
Again no picture because I was to groggy and hungry..=P..

We arrived at Incheon airport at around 9am Korean time.. the airport is HUGE! I don't know whether KLIA is bigger or smaller but Incheon airport is really really wide! Must walk quite far from the airplane to the baggage claiming area.... but they have all those flat escalators and the whole place is covered in kawaii (oops.. thats Japanese) posters and characters....and they are very efficient... very fast get our luggage....

Photobucket

Their airport is decorated with all those fiddly christmas and new year decorations... there's even a little water feature... very pretty...

Being colourful in the airport...=D

We met our tour guide Julie and her assistant John (I think) but he can't speak anything except Korean so Julie introduced him as some sounding like "Juhn" .. so I improvised and called him "Ju-On" xD..

Getting on the bus was a real ...erm.. weather shock? It was freeezing! Brrr... Wasn't expecting it at all okayy!

I like the Korean number plates...

We had a long drive from Incheon Airport to the next destination so I started camwhoring...>.<

Yala yala my skin not so flawless...all Photoshop... T.T

We stopped at a rest stop on the way to have lunch... their rest stops are not like our puny horrible smelling toilet only rest stops along the highway... they have restaurants and indoor gardens in the toilets!! We had some Korean sushi and udon and dumplings....yummy...

There was this dog outside that kept chasing the buses and cars... so cute! It looks like one of those husky dogs and it just added to the whole wintery effect to see a wintery dog...haha..

Me likey this pic!

I also went and buy Starbucks in a bottle....hahaha...so expensive!! Burn hole in pocket just to take a picture of hot starbucks from a hot fridge in a cold country......=.=

After lunch we travelled for another hour or so... (Julie talks ALOT)... and finally we reach Seoraksan National Park!

Photobucket
Welcome!

This national park is located near the city Sokcho and is the home of the magnificent mountain Seoraksan or Mt. Sorak! The park is HUGE... it covers like a few provinces or something like that ...

Photobucket

There are plentiful of hiking trails and waterfalls and temples and all those arty farty stuff! There are a bunch of historical rocks there that have names all ending with -bawi (Ulsanbawi and Heundeulbawi)... at first glance I thought it was -babi... lolx...

I never got to see the rocks anyways... you have to walk like 5km and climb like 800 steps to get to those formations.... in fact... we never really went further than the Shinheung Temple...

Photobucket

Everywhere else requires at least a 40minute hike and we just didn't have the time... plus it was around -1 degree celcius... how to walk!?!

Big Buddha at the Shinheung Temple

We had an early dinner at a nearby restaurant...

All the condiments..

The food was delish!!! and koreans are very generous with food... they keep refilling and refilling..

..and refilling..

REFILL!

So fulfilling....=X...

By the time we finished dinner it was time to head off to the hotel... we were to transfer to Hanhwa Pheonix Ski Resort so that we can have an early start the next morning to go..

Skiing!!=P

Stay tuned...=D
